Gala Luncheon ofthe Rotary Clubs of Jamaica and the Installation of Incoming DG Errol Alberga

What a wonderful Gala Luncheon to celebrate 50 years of "Service Above Self" by the Rotary Clubs of Jamaica! President Chris Issa and the entire organizing team deserve heartiest congratulations for an excellent production. With our 24 Clubs participating to the extent they did, allowed this year's Rotary Theme "MAKE DREAMS REAL" come alive.

Master of Ceremonies, PDG Mike Fennell guided the proceedings in his usual
skillful way.

After the National Anthem, the Grace, the Loyal Toast and the 4-Way Test, our four Assistant Governors introduced the Clubs under their respective jurisdiction.

President Chris extended a formal welcome to all which included Opposition Leader, Rt. Hon Portia Simpson Miller, Minister of Youth and Sport, Hon. Olivia Grange, Outgoing District Governor Rupert Ross and First Lady Cheryl, Incoming District Governor Errol Alberga and First Lady Leonie, Guest Speaker Rtn Sylvia V. Governor of Kiwanis International, Lionesses of the Lions Club of Jamaica, Officers, Directors and members of all 24 Rotary Clubs, Rotaractors, Interactors, members of the Private Sector Civil Society and NGOs.

After a very informative video presentation entitled: "History of Rotary in Jamaica", PP Andre Hylton, Coordinating Chairman of the Flow/Rotary Jamaica Youth Leadership Initiative 50th Anniversary Celebration gave a stirring presentation of the first Rotary National Project - Jamaica.

The presentation of Certificates/Plaques for the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards was preceded by the bestowing of the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation's second highest honour, the Medal of Kingston on the RCOK by Town Clerk Errol Greene who represented the Mayor, Senator Desmond McKenzie.

Our Guest Speaker was introduced by our first female Rotarian, Grace Ashley.
PP Sylvia related her story of breaking the glass ceiling. Her trail blazing
story was well received and followed by a standing ovation.
