Haitian Earthquake Response

Photo: ADRA

The Rotary Club of Montego Bay is extremely saddened by the effects of the recent earthquake in our neighbour island of Haiti. We are very concerned about our fellow Rotarians as well as all persons affected by this disaster in Haiti . The disaster is, to say the very least, overwhelming and puts us as Rotarians to the test. We must, at this time, if at no other, put our all into making service above self more than just a motto. Our hearts and prayers go out to all those in Haiti and those who may not be in Haiti but who may have family and friends in the disaster zone.

For all those in Jamaica who can help the Haiti Relief Efforts - Please make your donations to "Rotary District 7020 - USD Account - At any NCB # 354-052-229 (Knutsford Branch)"

Locally The Salvation Army is also working closely with other organizations and churches to collect bottled water, non perishable food items and personal hygiene items to be shipped immediately to Haiti. The Salvation Army has been given the use of a large warehouse to facilitate storage and preparation of items for shipment.

The general public may drop items at any Scotia Bank branch, Azan Super Stores, or Territorial Headquarters at 3 Waterloo Road. Monetary donations may be made at Territorial Headquarters. Please call (876) 929-6190 for further details.
